へぷとんのたんぶら

また８月１５日がやってくる。

１９４５年８月１５日、これが僕の原点である。

僕は小学校の５年生だった。

５年生の１学期まで先生や校長先生や偉い人は皆、
「この戦争は侵略国、米英に対する正義の戦いである」
と毎日のように強調し、
「君らは、天皇陛下の為に死ね。大東亜共栄圏の捨石になれ」
と教えられた。

ところが、夏休みに戦争に負けた。

すると、同じ先生達が２学期には
「日本の戦争は侵略戦争だ。戦争を起こした人間達は犯罪者だ」
と一説した。

価値観が１８０度変わったのである。

先生に

「５年生の１学期まであの戦争は正義の戦争だったのではないか」

と言うと、先生は

「そんな事は絶対口にするな。日本は悪い国なのだ、そう思わないと君らの人生はないぞ」

と言われた。

この時から

「偉い人の言う事は信用できない、
特に偉い人が大きな声で言う事は信用できない、
世の中の常識は信用できない」

と思うようになった。

これが僕の原点だ。

その事が、僕がジャーナリストとしての
道を選んだ要因になっていると思う。
