黒沢明監督の映画「乱」では、撮影で６億５０００万円のかかった一発勝負がありました。
　それは息子たちに裏切られた戦国武将、一文字秀虎が狂気に陥り、燃え上がる城からさまよい出るヤマ場の撮影です。石垣は高さ６メートルもの急勾配で、石段を数えると２２段もある。口を開けて見上げていると、黒沢監督がこう言うのです。
「秀虎は気が狂って出てくるんだから、やっぱり足元を見るのはおかしいでしょう。宙を見つめたままストン、ストンと漂うように下りてくるんだと思うんですよ。できますか、足元を見ないで」
「大丈夫。僕は足の先に目がついてますからね」
　笑って答えたものの、日仏資本で計２７億円という超大作です。聞けば、静岡県御殿場市の富士山の３合目にのべ４カ月かけて建てられた三の城のセットだけで約４億円。そこに本当に火をつけて炎上させるため、撮り直しはきかない。万一、私が転んでＮＧを出した場合、損失は約６億５０００万円に上ってしまう。黒沢組は、１週間近く天気待ちをして一発撮りに臨んだり、緊張感の連続でしたが、この場面は別格中の別格です。
